Dana Fry and Jason Straka announce a new golf course design partnership as Fry’s long time partner Dr Michael J. Hurdzan is joined by son Christopher in Hurdzan & Son, Inc.

Award winning golf course architects, Dana Fry and Jason Straka have announced the formation of their new golf course design partnership, Fry / Straka Global Golf Course Design. After working together for nearly 20 years the pair are excited to bring their design experience, talent and renowned client dedication to their new venture.

While the pair will collaborate on all projects, Dana will reside in Hong Kong and Jason will remain in the United States in order to have worldwide reach. The new company will have associates based in Lisbon, Milan, Beijing,  and Porto Alegre in Brazil.

While the partners are accepting clients under the new company banner they will continue to serve their existing clients under Hurdzan / Fry Environmental Golf Course Design along with Dr. Michael Hurdzan.

Indeed Dana and Jason have acknowledged and thanked their former partner and mentor, Dr. Michael J. Hurdzan, for many years of leadership, friendship and support.

Dr Hurdzan has been joined by his son, Christopher, in Hurdzan & Son, Inc. who will continue to operate from their current office in Columbus, Ohio, having elected to maintain their primary focus on North American based designs.

They will, however, continue to pursue opportunities internationally as both lead and co-designers. Hurdzan & Son will also offer attractively priced consulting services aimed at demonstrating how existing golf courses can reduce maintenance and operational costs, improve playability, and reinforce environmental stewardship.

Further, Christopher will expand his brokerage of golf antiquities, emphasizing emerging artists and themed collections, such as “Famous Golf Courses of the United States” or “World’s Greatest Golfers 1900-1960”.

“My personal commitment is that Hurdzan/Fry existing contracts will be completed and clients fully satisfied,” explains Dr. Hurdzan. “These will still be true Hurdzan/Fry golf courses, but the last ones done as one company. We have been discussing this transition for a long time and we all agree that now is a prime opportunity to establish these new identities. I am certain that Fry/Straka have a superstar career ahead of them of which I fully support.”
