Abacus Sportswear, the Swedish golf clothing brand and pioneer of stretch waterproof fabrics, is investing in its services to UK retailers, including establishing a new, dedicated national sales team.
The company, which is an Official Licensee of The 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, is upgrading its UK operations as part of an international growth plan.
Two new full-time sales representatives have been appointed to service leading green grass golf professionals, buying groups and retailers.
Abacus Sportswear managing director Henrik Bergqvist said: “While abacus® is renowned for the quality and functionality of its men’s and women’s clothing, including pioneering waterproof fabrics such as StretchLite™, customer service and a deep understanding of retailers’ needs is at the core of our business.
“We are committed to partnering with the best retailers in the UK and helping them make their businesses a success. Increasingly, the golf market in the UK has moved towards a smaller number of elite golf brands that can guarantee superior quality products and efficient, focused customer service – and this is what abacus® is all about.”
As well as being an Official Supplier to The European Tour, Abacus Sportswear will kit out The European Solheim Cup Team for this summer’s match at Colorado Golf Club, USA.
The company is also Official Supplier to England Golf and dresses the country’s national teams in shirts, sweaters and trousers.
Joining Abacus Sportswear’s dedicated sales team in the UK are Jake Oudes and Marie Olsson.
Jake, who is based in Kent and was previously a technical representative for a Swedish weatherwear competitor, is covering London and southern England.
Marie has spent 18 years in the fashion industry working for international designer brands, and has been in the golf business for the past four years. A golfer for more than 20 years, she is covering territories north of London, including the midlands and the north-west.
