Glenmuir’s New Autumn Collection Makes Fashion Statement

Glenmuir Dartmouth sngGlenmuir, which has been making the finest Scottish golfwear for 122 years, introduces a new blend of fashion and flare in its latest Autumn/Winter 2013 collection – the most contemporary range ever produced by the Lanark company.

The preferred supplier of shirts and knitwear to the European Ryder Cup Team and a brand at the forefront of the golfwear industry since 1891, Glenmuir has taken this outstanding pedigree and unveiled a stunning collection easily suited to both the course and the catwalk.

Renowned for the high-quality of its knitwear in particular, collection highlights include two new fashion cable-knit sweaters in a supersoft blend of the best Alpaca and Merino wools.

‘Mansfield’ for men is available in three colours (Grey Marl, Blackgrape and Navy) and features a shawl collar with loop-and-toggle neck fastening.

Glenmuir Cleo sngFor ladies, ‘Cleo’ is a stunning, chunky cable-knit sweater in the same blend of high quality wools, with a ribbed fold-over collar and cuffs. Cut longer to finish below the waist with vents, this new piece is available in three colours (Metallic Marl, Blackgrape and Ivory).

The collection also sees Glenmuir expanding its range of six men’s trousers designed specifically for golf – with both modern looks and functionality to the fore.

The new ‘Oberlin’ design features a stretchable blend of wool, polyester and Lycra® and is finished off with a neat suede pocket trim. The new ‘Kenyon’ flat-front trousers feature a similar stretchable material but in a trendy Prince of Wales Check thoughtfully-designed to complement all shirts and knitwear in the collection.

Elsewhere, there are new flashes of fashion influence in the best-selling Men’s Luxury Shirts range, with the new ‘Columbia’ and ‘Dartmouth’ designs featuring very modern contrasting block panels and stripes. And in the Classic Shirts range, there’s a trendy epaulettes and sleeve pocket feature on the new ‘Franklin’ shirt.

Diamond patterns continue to play a key role in the Glenmuir collection, but again the company’s Lanark-based design team has introduced contemporary twists on a traditional golfing theme.

This is evident in the men’s ‘Yale’ lined sweater, where there is a subtle and small panel of diamonds on the right shoulder and in the ladies’ ‘Ludivine’ where the right side of the sweater features a striking diamond and raker panel.
