R&A host conference on sustainable course development

On 24th January the R&A golf course committee is hosting a day-long conference on sustainable golf course dev elopement. The conference will cover issues of importance to the future of course development and maintenance and will be of interest to club secretaries, managers and committee personnel as well as course managers and greenkeepers.

The conference is to be held as part of BTME in Harrogate and will introduce delegates to the work of the Golf Course Committee over the six years of its existence and spell out plans for the future that include a roll-out of the web-based benchmarking system.

There will be presentations by qualified experts in many fields, plus periods of open discussion and the day will be split into four sessions – the work of The R&A; principles of sustainable course development and management; putting sustainability into practice; and moving forward.
