Three-time European Tour winner Søren Kjeldsen and renowned trick shot artist Paul Barrington will join golfing legend Colin Montgomerie to show off their skills and entertain the public at Golf Live, which takes place at Celtic Manor from May 10-12.

Kjeldsen claimed the biggest of his three European Tour victories when he won the season-ending Volvo Masters at Valderrama in 2008 while Barrington is a former world trick shot champion and British long driving champion.

Denmark’s Kjeldsen will be on hand at this year’s Golf Live at Celtic Manor, the world’s leading interactive golf show, to demonstrate some of the skills that have seen him become such a consistent performer on the European Tour for over 15 years and record five top-10 tournament finishes last season, most notably a runner-up spot in Spain. He will also be there to cast an eye over the celebrity talent included this year as part of The Celebrity Cup.

Along with event ambassador Montgomerie and other leading tour pros and coaches, Kjeldsen will be miked up to instruct and entertain the crowds on how he executes many of his shots in the unique theatres of Golf Live, which allow people to get much closer to the players than any other golf event.

As a Cleveland / Srixon player, Kjeldsen will also be showing fans how to use their wedges and balls to get “up and down” from a number of real life scenarios in the Cleveland / Srixon Short Game Zone.

The Dane said: “I’m really excited to be making my first appearance at Golf Live having heard so many good things about it over the last three years. I enjoy meeting club golfers in pro-ams and Golf Live will give me a better opportunity to pass on more advice on how to get the best from their games.”

Barrington is no stranger to Golf Live having thrilled the galleries with his breath-taking array of trick shots last year. Well-crafted routines include using clubs varying from 2ft to 7ft in length, hose pipe shafts, shots hit from a kneeling position, and the amazing scissor shot. Barrington once recorded one of the fastest swing speeds in the world at 143mph and is an accomplished long driver who would leave many of the tour pros in his wake.

He said: “I take my trick shot show all over the world but the display at Golf Live drew one of the best responses I’ve ever had. The golf fans present really appreciated the difficulty of some of the shots and it was great fun to interact so closely with the audience and involve them in parts of the routine.”

As well as the popular golf theatres, Golf Live gives every visitor the opportunity to be custom-fit for their own ideal equipment on the driving range, see the latest clubs, balls and accessories from the world’s leading manufacturers, and explore a comprehensive exhibition of golf apparel, merchandise and golfing destinations.

New this year and part of the same admission ticket is The Celebrity Cup at Golf Live, a star-studded tournament of 24 celebrities competing for England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Big names already announced for the event include Olympic hero Sir Steve Redgrave, comedian Rob Brydon, football legend Kenny Dalglish, and model and TV personality Jodie Kidd.

Overseen by Montgomerie, the winning European Ryder Cup captain at Celtic Manor, The Celebrity Cup will raise funds for the Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation, founded in memory of Colin’s mother who died of lung cancer in 1991.
