Golf Show Group Announces First Ever Manchester Golf Show

10.48am 5th October 2012 - Exhibitions & Conferences

The Golf Show Group has announced it is launching a brand new golf show in Manchester, bringing its successful and long running format to the famous ‘sports mad’ city for the first time.

The show, which will be held at Manchester’s EventCity, will take place from the 5th-7th of April 2013, and will be supported by new retail partner ExpressGolf and long standing show partner Monarch Airlines. The show is the first of its kind in the North West and the organisers hope it will be as successful as its established London Golf Show which is now celebrating its eighth year.

The new addition to The Golf Show Group’s portfolio will take a similar format to its sister shows and has been designed to provide a truly interactive experience for golf enthusiasts of all ages with informed technical advice, PGA tuition and education, guest interviews, Driving bays, Custom fitting, Club testing, Custom build trucks, Simulators and the latest golf gadgets. However, the team hopes to give the show its own distinct feel with support from local clubs and brands giving the show its own unique identity.

Ian Mullins – Marketing Director of the Golf Show Group said, “Having joined the Golf Show Team last year, it was always our intention to take a refreshed look at the core demographics of golfers in the UK, where they live and what their spending habits were. Our instincts to launch a show in Manchester were soon confirmed when the research came back. With statistics showing there are in excess of 1m+ golfers within a 90 minute drive time of EventCity, it was a ‘no brainer’ that we should launch a show in Manchester.“

Damian Benstead – Managing Director of the Golf Show Group said, “We are thrilled to be making this announcement, especially after the successful move of our London Show from the Excel Centre to Earls Court in 2011, and so quickly after our announcement that our London Show would be supported by talkSPORT. Manchester has been on our radar for a number of years and now the time is right for us to expand. EventCity will provide a fantastic backdrop for us to engage with local golfers and so far all our feedback suggests it will be supported by both exhibitors and golfers alike. We are also very excited to be working with fast growing internet based retailer ExpressGolf at this show.”

Jordan Gibson – Managing Director of ExpressGolf added: “I am very proud to be partnering with such an established company like the Golf Show Group. We believe this will both raise the profile of golf as a sport in the region and the awareness of Express Golf as a brand that can bring golfers big savings on golf equipment and apparel without sacrificing a premium level of service – we look forward to seeing everyone at the show!”

EventCity is the second largest exhibition centre outside of London, situated in a prime spot right next to The Trafford Centre. The venues 28,000sqm of versatile exhibiting space has easy access routes from the motorway and boasts thousands of free car parking spaces, making it the perfect venue to host the first ever Golf Show in the region.

Sarah Mills, Director of Sales for EventCity said: “The Golf Show is a highly anticipated event forManchesterand we are thrilled to welcome such an established and successful brand to the City. We have been hungry to provide something of this nature to the regions mass golf-enthusiast audience and 2013 will mark the start of satisfying that appetite. We have every confidence it will be one of the most successful events on our calendar.”

Tickets for The Manchester Golf Show will go on sale to the general public early in the New Year.
