The crowds came out at Golf Live 2011

“There is still time, but hurry”; that’s the message for creative product designers who are looking for a boost to raise the profile of their brand in 2012.

Golf Live and GBD magazine are running a competition with a twist – and creative golf manufacturers or suppliers need to declare their interest by 15 January.

GBD magazine presents an exclusive report on preparations for Golf Live 2012 (held at the London Golf Club, 18-20 May) in its latest issue. Apart from all the news about exhibitors, improvements to the format and fresh thinking for the 2012 event, GBD and Golf Live have combined to present an exciting competition for its readers.

Golf Live will offer an amazing prize to a company which can show imagination, foresight and technical brilliance within a new product/service for golfers. In return for the best product idea from the most fertile brain, Golf Live will make available a 3 metre x 3 metre stand (worth £2745 + VAT) in the exhibition area of Golf Live for all three days of the event (18-20 May).

Golf Live event director James Goode said: “Golf Live shares with GBD magazine an appreciation of companies large and small which can truly innovate to make great products and inspire the rest of the industry.

“We would also like to support an example of such innovation. As part of our build-up for Golf Live 2012 we thought it would be a good idea to reward a company which excelled through imagination (this could be a new company, or an established company with a new idea) with some space at Golf Live in which to showcase this example of original thinking.”

Any golf company can enter GBD’s ‘Best Innovation Product’ competition. A small judging panel of the GBD editor Ben Evans, GolfBusinessNews.Com editor Geoff Russell, James Goode and three design experts will help select a winner.

Any product/service can be entered as long as the first unit/sale was completed/sold no earlier than 1 April 2011. The GBD editor’s decision will be final.

To enter, simply put down in no more than 400 words (a) why the product is innovative, (b) why a presence at Golf Live will help your company and (c) why it will excite visitors at Golf Live. Send your words and supporting pictures to the editor at

• Please enter by 15 January, 2012, and following these replies we will contact a short list to view actual products more closely before reaching a decision.
