Troon has announced La Reserva Golf Club in Sotogrande as its newest client. The Spanish property located in Sotogrande Resort is one of Europe’s most prestigious championship golf courses. Designed by world-renowned golf course architect, Cabell B. Robinson and situated on the exclusive Sotogrande estate, La Reserva has forged a justifiable reputation as one of Europe’s most sought-after golf destinations. With the appointment of Troon, the ownership is demonstrating its intent to further enhance the appeal of La Reserva to both current and future members and the domestic and international golf community.

Consistently ranked in the top 10 in Spain and top 60 best courses in Continental Europe, La Reserva is a championship golf course with stunning vistas of the surrounding area, thanks to several elevated tees. Opened for play in 2004, it is located between two valleys and measures over 7,400 yards off the competition tees. However, the generous fairways and a variety of teeing options make it playable for golfers of all abilities. Panellists on the esteemed golf course ranking website, were so impressed by La Reserva they voted it #7 in Spain.

“Sotogrande is a name that resonates with golfers across Europe. This appointment is an indication of the ownership group’s intent to elevate the property’s already impressive member and visitor experience,” remarked Bruce Glasco, Managing Director, Troon International Operations. “We’re excited to bring our expertise to a venue that continues to invest in its facilities and are confident that this new partnership will strike the right chord and create the desired impact with the loyal and supportive membership as well as golfers from all over the world.”

Ownership Group, NH Hotels, one of the Top 25 hotel chains in the world, operates almost 400 hotels and 60,000 rooms in 26 countries across Europe, America and Africa.

“Troon managing our golf property leaves us safe in the knowledge that our highly respected development will continue to strive for the highest possible quality and consistently deliver a memorable experience to our members and all who visit,” commented Ramon Luengo Martinez, Director General of Sotogrande S.A, the NH Hotels Company responsible for La Reserva. “We are committed to forging a strong working partnership with the experts at Troon to continue as the premier member’s course in the area and maintain the Club on a sound financial footing.”

The announcement adds yet more momentum to Troon’s 2013 season, which has seen new properties, appointments and recognition in the early weeks. “The business continues its upward spiral and with new signings and existing client support, Troon maintains its position as undisputed industry leader in golf management solutions,” commented Ian Bulleid, Troon’s Director, International Sales and Marketing EMEA. “Working with Sotogrande, along with Las Colinas and Lumine establishes us as the clear market leader in Spain for the management of top quality golf Clubs and Resorts.”
