Revolutionary Arrivals at Royal Dornoch

1.58am 16th May 2012 - Course Development

Four of Royal Dornoch’s six Toro TriFlex Hybrid 3240 greensmowers line up for the camera.

Half-a-dozen new Toro Greensmaster TriFlex Hybrid 3420 riding greensmowers are tending to leading Scottish links course Royal Dornoch.

The Sutherland club has taken delivery of six hybrids – the first Toro mower to feature an all-electric cylinder drive system. And such was course manager Eoin Riddell’s confidence in this recently launched machine, he signed on the dotted line without even seeing or demoing them!

“We wanted the hybrids to reduce the chance of hydraulic leaks – I really like how Toro has cut the number of pipes,” Eoin reveals. “We’re delighted with them. The Greensmaster 3250 is a great machine, but this has just moved things on.”

When the weather is on their side, Eoin and his team have been putting the new arrivals through their paces. “We love the way the mower follows the contours of the ground. The cutting units just ‘hug’ the ground – it gives a really nice clip. We’re very impressed with the build quality, too.”
