The much anticipated PGA National Russia will officially open on Sunday 9th September. A field of 70 golfers will take part in the inaugural opening tournament, while over 200 other guests will descend on the facility to enjoy a wide range of “life style” activities which are part of the Zavidovo development amenities.

The 7,400 yard PGA National Russia course has been receiving “rave” reviews from all that have seen it prior to the official opening this weekend. The course looks set to raise the bench mark in Russia on course design, through the work of architect Dave Sampson of European Golf Design, as well as conditioning and presentation standards through the excellent work of Braemar Golf’s Superintendent, Paul Avison.

“I have been delighted with the progress we have made during the summer. The course has grown in very well and now all 18 holes are to the standard we are looking for,” said Course Superintendent Paul Avison.

“Those invited to play will be treated to a beautifully designed course which has been inspired by the traditional links and heath land courses of the UK,” commented Club President, Alexander Yarunin. “Guests will also get a glimpse of our stunning clubhouse, which will be used for specific events for the remainder of 2012, with an official open next year,” Yarunin added.

The Clubhouse at PGA National Russia features 10 bedroom suites, Presidential Suite, 3 bars, restaurant, private meeting rooms and a large function suite, whilst members and residents will be able to enjoy their own lounge, billiard room and library.

The PGA National is the only course in Russia to carry the prestigious PGA brand and is expect to become the number one golf facility in Russia. It is managed by the St Andrews based Management Company, Braemar Golf.

Braemar Golf is an international golf services company headquartered at the home of golf in St Andrews, Scotland. They construct, support and manage high quality golf developments in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
