The third 9 hole loop in Kazan
The third 9 hole loop in Kazan

The third Harradine-designed 9 hole loop has recently been approved by the client in Kazan.

The Kazan Golf and Ski Resort in Tatarstan will boast 27 holes, two hotels, 500 chalets and artificial hills that blend in perfectly with the surrounding landscape and were built to be used as ski slopes in winter. The first 18 holes are quite spectacular but the third 9 hole loop is even more incredible as it includes 7 artificial lakes nestled along the natural valley and stream that meanders through the course with a difference in level between the top and bottom holes of 90 metres!

The views to the distant Volga are exceptional and the holes play along, towards, across and away from the valley offering various golfing options and challenges. The surveyors have begun staking out the third 9 hole loop so that 10 metre corridors can be cut in some of the woods that line the valley. This is ideal winter work in this region where temperatures can reach -25°C!

Before beginning with the earth movements Harradine will inspect the various corridors and move some of the fairway boundaries, greens and tees to preserve most of the individual specimen trees.
