Worldwide shortage of Ashworth’s new fabric

8.30am 12th May 2004 - Corporate

Since Ashworth introduced EZ-Tech, their innovative new performance fabric, last year the products have become the fastest selling range in the company’s history. EZ-Tech shirts have been flying out of golf shops around the world and the leading global golf apparel brand cannot keep up with the re-orders coming in from retailers.
Factories are working around the clock to try and meet demand but Ashworth has announced they may have to offer the product on allocation for the next four months at least.
EZ-TECH® is the union between EZ-care and TECHnology. The unique treatment enables the garment to resist shrinking, pilling, fading and wrinkles for 30 washes whilst remaining breathable. It is the first 100% natural cotton fabric that has all these features together with a full moisture management system. This revolutionary product is also easy care, non-iron and has a natural soft feel wash after wash.
Grahame Jenkins, Ashworth’s European managing director, knew EZ-Tech would take the golfing world by storm but says that he never expected anything like this. “It is unheard of that an apparel company in Europe – or indeed worldwide – finds itself in such a situation. There has been a similar problem in the past with golf ball companies, but never such demand for a clothing product! It shows just how good EZ-Tech is and also proves the need for pre-booking – I urge all our loyal customers to pre-book for Spring/Summer 2005 to meet their needs.”
