SkyTrak_logo_4c_72dpi_620x241The management team of SkyTrak, which was short-listed for last week’s HSBC Golf Business Forum Innovation Award, has congratulated the eventual winners, Scotland-based Golphinforkids.

A panel of ten global golf industry experts assessed this year’s short-listed innovations, and selected children’s golf equipment company Golfphinforkids as the winner. The presentation was made to the company’s Managing Director, Calum McPherson, on Tuesday 3rd  November at the 2015 HSBC Golf Business Forum at the Pudong Shangri La Hotel in downtown Shanghai, China.

Although SkyTrak did not win the main award, SkyCaddie – which markets SkyTrak in partnership with SportTrak – expressed its delight at making the final short list.

“Firstly we congratulate Golphinforkids for winning this prestigious award” said SkyCaddie’s Senior Vice-President International Sales & Marketing, Jacqui Surman, speaking from the firm’s Jackson, Mississippi headquarters.

“Golphinforkids is a worthy winner, and we wish the company great success as they build their brand. Naturally we were delighted that SkyTrak made the short list, alongside ten other new golf innovations, and it is good to be recognised by such an experienced panel of golf industry judges”.

The HSBC Golf Business Forum Innovation Award is given each year to a start-up, individual or corporation which demonstrates that their product or idea has created game-changing or truly ground-breaking activity in golf.

On SkyTrak’s nomination, Jacqui Surman said: “We believe that SkyTrak is game-changing technology, and our customers have been telling us the same all year. SkyTrak puts both a professional-quality launch monitor and a high-definition golf simulator into the realms of affordability for keen golfers and also for golf clubs, who may previously have been daunted by very high price points for this technology. It will help thousands of golfers worldwide both to reduce their handicaps, and to pursue their passion for golf when they can’t make it to the actual golf course.

“Like the others on the HSBC Innovation Award shortlist, I am sure, we have been flattered to hear people use phrases such as ‘ground-breaking’ when describing our product, and we are hard at work ensuring that both we and our retailers realise the full potential for this powerful new product. We will keep on innovating, as we have done for well over a decade in establishing SkyCaddie as one of the world’s most-trusted new golf technology providers.”
