MacWet Gloves provide the perfect fit for Glenmuir

Glenmuir, the leading European golf clothing brand, has signed an agreement with the McSport Group to acquire all rights to the MacWet brand for golf.

Glenmuir has been distributing the unique MacWet All Grip no Slip gloves under license for just over two years.

Encouraged by the immediate success of the gloves with its customers across Europe, the Scottish company will now assume control of the brand for gloves and all other uses on an international basis.

MacWet gloves first gained success as the ideal performance-grip glove for water skiers and then horse riders, who flocked to enjoy the comfort and enhanced grip the gloves offered in dry, humid or wet conditions. MacWet is now the leading brand in both the equestrian and country sports markets.

Glenmuir is preparing to launch a new Winter Glove this autumn, to accompany the Classic Glove already in the market. The winter glove uses the all grip no slip fabric technology in combination a high tech wind proof and breathable insulating fabric to keep out the cold without compromising performance.

Glenmuir managing director Colin Mee commented, “We have been delighted with the sales performance of the MacWet gloves since we took on the license, and the product complements our Performance Series clothing range perfectly.

“Now that we are taking control of the brand internationally we intend to increase further the marketing support for MacWet in order that we can continue to expand distribution and sales.”

McSport Group chairman Bob Cheetham added, “With its fantastic distribution network and knowledge of the golf business Glenmuir has been the ideal licensing partner for MacWet gloves in the world of golf.

“This agreement will enable them to develop the business further and will meet our goals of enhancing the MacWet brand internationally across all sports.”
