Lynx Golf has hailed the inaugural ‘SportFest’ as a major success after providing all the golf coaching at the unique family festival.

The  Surrey-based, family-owned brand delivered a knockout golf experience over the weekend of 3-4th August at the beautiful Wormsley Estate, Bucks,  in the first ever  event of its kind in the UK.

With a specially-erected outdoor driving range, crazy putting challenge course, sticky golf, putting coaching by the son of famous ‘Putting Doctor’ Harold Swash and a series of hourly trick shot shows from Dean Davis, Lynx was chosen to be the exclusive golf partner of SportFest.

Said Lynx Golf managing partner, Stephanie Zinser: “It could not have gone any better for Lynx. Everyone – adults and a lot of children – who experienced the Lynx Golf Zone had a superb time and the feedback we received over the weekend and since has been amazing. From a brand awareness perspective it was excellent and we will certainly be back next year for an event which promises to be even bigger and better.

“SportFest is the perfect platform to show that golf is a fun, skilful and inclusive game and that is exactly what Lynx stands for.”

SportFest was organised by SuperSkills Experiences Ltd, a unique business dedicated to providing legendary shared experiences by some of the biggest names in sport, including rugby greats Austin Healey and Will Greenwood.

Thousands of children, mums and dads enjoyed six sports – golf, hockey, cricket, rugby, netball and tennis – as well as a whole range of family-orientated other activities like martial arts and rowing.

Sporting legends in attendance included Tim Henman, Martin Johnson, Andrew Strauss, Katherine Grainger CBE and Sir Matthew Pinsent – who, apart from demonstrating his Olympic medal-winning rowing prowess, also took part in the Lynx Trick Shot Show and proved he also has the ‘muscle’ for a bit of humorous golf, with balls being hit off his head!

Ed Rusling, founder of SuperSkills Experiences, said: “It was such a proud moment to launch SportFest at the weekend. To see the joy on the children’s faces as they took part in all the sports, and the sports legends mixing in such a relaxed and informal atmosphere, all in the backdrop of the stunning Wormsley Estate was just fantastic.

“We are already planning SportFest 2014 to build on the successful foundations of this year, and hope even more families can join us for another amazing event!”
