John Letters of Scotland, the equipment brand with 95 years of clubmaking history, is delighted to announce the signing of Rugby league super stars Danny Brough and Eorl Crabtree as brand ambassadors.

With a club fitting and technical base in Huddersfield, the famous Scottish Clubmaker has forged a relationship with two of the table-topping Super League stars from the Huddersfield Giants. Captain Danny Brough and current 6ft 6-inch England international Eorl Crabtree already use John Letters equipment by choice, but have now been fully kitted out with customised clubs.

Both will receive technical and instructional support as John Letters aim to confirm how custom fitting can lower a golfer’s handicap.

Danny, a 14 handicapper who represents Scotland’s rugby league team and Eorl, an 18 handicapper, are playing the new TR47 range of clubs and will be finding time to get their handicaps down ahead of the upcoming Rugby League World Cup held in the UK in October and November.

Kevin Ludkin, Custom-fit Technician for John Letters, said: “The guys have had a full club fitting session at our Letters academy facility next to the John Smiths Stadium where they play in Huddersfield as well as rounds at Crosland Heath Golf Club.

“This enabled us to view their natural on-course games. Irons, woods, wedges and putters have now been assembled to suit them at our workshop and they’ve even had their team squad numbers stamped on their wedges.

“As a tall man, Eorl’s club specifications are quite extreme. Irons and wedge shafts are 1.75 inches longer than standard and have five extra layers of tape under the grips to fit his huge hands. And his putter is two inches longer and heavier than standard.”

The TR47 range, a replacement for the highly-coveted T9+ range, pays homage to the past and the present – with tradition meeting technology. ’47’ recognises the glorious Open Championship victory for Fred Daly in 1947 using John Letters equipment and ‘TR’ , short for Trilogy, refers to the famous John Letters design of three different clubs styles in the TR47 range.

Classic head shapes meet the latest material innovations, technology and precision engineering to bring to you John Letters’ most advanced range of products in brands recent history. Letters are so confident in the performance of their latest product range that they are offering a 47 Yard Challenge, gain 47 yards against your current clubs or your money back.
