Golf Gamebook Teams Up With Volvo

GameBook and Broken PencilGolf GameBook, the free smartphone app featuring a golf community, live scoring, tournament manager and social chat, has successfully teamed up with Volvo in South Africa to provide live scoring during the corporate Volvo World Golf Challenge – World Final 2013, followed by Pro-Am live scoring at the European Tour’s prestigious Volvo Golf Champions tournament.

Golf GameBook’s co-operation with Volvo commenced at the company’s high-profile corporate event for amateur golfers, which saw 74 players from 32 countries, compete in a 36-hole, two-day event staged at Zimbali Country Club, near Durban.

Since its launch in 1988, Volvo’s annual global golf competition has engaged with more than one million people and is run in conjunction with, and alongside, the Volvo-sponsored European Tour event at Durban Country Club.

Competitors at this year’s Volvo World Golf Challenge – World Final 2013 also experienced Golf GameBook’s launch of a new multi-round scoring feature, which gives event organisers the ability to provide live, aggregated scoring over more than 18 holes.

After the completion of this year’s Volvo World Golf Challenge – World Final 2013, the 18 best-placed finishers went on to play alongside Ryder Cup heroes and other stars of the European Tour, including Thomas Björn, Colin Montgomerie, Padraig Harrington and Darren Clarke, in the Volvo Golf Champions Pro-Am at Durban Country Club.
