Golf Club Network to revolutionise web marketing

8.15am 5th March 2007 - Corporate

A new website solution has been launched for golf clubs seeking to build and maintain quality websites to maximise their sales and marketing potential, better communicate with their membership and attract more paying golfers (both visitors and members).

By joining the Golf Club Network, a club can create or transform its existing website without paying any high design fees, while linking up to a central platform to present a vastly improved online service and level of functionality to members and visitors, all at a low cost (cheaper than the creation of the most basic site).

Each club has a unique domain name and a bespoke look designed for its own needs, allowing it to retain its individuality to members. Members have their own section which includes a high standard of regularly updated editorial, while other visitors to the site will find the club’s marketing information and can even book and pay for a tee time.

Using a state-of-the-art website hosting system, clubs will be guided every step of the way to create a service that will help to recruit more members, attract more paying visitors and society groups (a major role of the network), and turn internet marketing from a cost to a revenue generator.

Mike Couzens, director of Golf Club Network, said, “The Golf Club Network is a one-stop shop that caters for all a member’s golfing needs, from booking times, checking club news, entering events, to finding out what is going on in the wider world of golf. This is all now driven through his/her club website, further strengthening the bond between each member and the club.

“For a club that is just starting out on the internet route or a club that understands how important the internet now is for marketing, the Network can equip staff with the ability to offer a significantly better service, while saving thousands in design and maintenance fees.

“Attracting the ‘nomadic’ golfer who likes to play different clubs is one of the key growth areas of today’s golf market and Golf Club Network offers the means to exploit this opportunity through better communication and marketing.

“Another key part of the model is that it is very easy to operate, even for those new to websites. The content management system will be included as part of the club’s website and allows staff to update content easily and at no expense.”

Mike added, “More and more golf clubs now realise how vital the internet is as a marketing tool. But this can only happen if the club’s website looks very professional. With the help of our website designers, the significant editorial content we offer, the booking and information services we provide, we can help a golf club to take that leap to keep ahead of the pack in online marketing and communication.

“With the Golf Club Network, the days of the individual golf club struggling to build and maintain its own website are effectively over.”

Joining the Golf Club Network costs £695 (+VAT) in the first year and £495 (+VAT) thereafter. This covers all hosting fees and ongoing maintenance charges and content.

This service is designed to be the first product in a portfolio of tailored online golf products aimed at the modern golf consumer.
