TGI, one of the UK’s biggest golf retail buying groups, conducted a survey of all its members to rank its golf equipment suppliers against a number of key criteria. FootJoy was voted the #1 supplier right across all product categories underlining the fact that FootJoy is a brand renowned for the quality of its products but also for the unrivalled service excellence that the FootJoy field sales team and Acushnet’s operations and customer service functions provide.
The comprehensive survey covered a wide range of factors that contribute to a successful supplier/retailer relationship from product issues such as sale-ability, quality, availability and retail price consistency to service efficiency issues such as deliveries, accounts and credit control plus the quality of the sales managers and the level of support they offer.
FootJoy’s scores in each of the categories were significantly above the average and were particularly strong in when it came to product sale-ability and quality. Mike Lucas, FootJoy’s sales and marketing director was delighted that the strength of the brand and the performance of the product were held in such high esteem when compared to other premium brands. “The results of this survey clearly underline the incredible strength of the FootJoy brand and the demand for our products amongst retailers and their customers,” he said. “We were up against the major club brands which makes these results even more rewarding.”
“It is vitally important that our retail partners find it easy and enjoyable to do business with us. There is no point having a product in demand if you can’t back that up with timely deliveries and after-sales support. To maintain our market leading position we have to ensure that our relationship with our retail partners is rock solid and these survey results certainly suggest we are doing most things right!”
