GolfSwitch Belfry imageThe De Vere group, which now manages The Belfry in the UK, has recently signed an agreement with GolfSwitch to provide all its courses and resorts with the most recent tee time booking technology.

The first resort that has come online is The Belfry, the spiritual home of the Ryder Cup. Who does not remember Christy O’Connor’s 2-iron to the middle of the 18th green in 1989, or Paul McGinley’s putt to clinch the 2002 Ryder Cup for Sam Torrance’s team? We can still see the iconic Seve Ballesteros who drove the Par 4 10th green; the first player to achieve the feat under the pressure of the Ryder Cup.

The North Warwickshire resort is also home to the PGA of GB&I and the PGAe, and has hosted more Ryder Cup events (four) than any other venue in the world.

Ian Knox, Director of Golf at The Belfry, “I’ve had experience with GolfSwitch in other properties I’ve been a part of so I have seen firsthand what a difference it can make to the operational efficiency of a resort like ours. We are very pleased with the support we are receiving and the way GolfSwitch has been able to accommodate our every need and I am very much looking forward in seeing the results of this technology in the years to come.”

Golfers increasingly demand that clubs provide them with an online tee time booking tool that is real time, so that they can immediately book a round of golf without having to wait for a reply from the club. Clubs that offer this are receiving a larger share of the tee time market in the ever more time conscious environment we live in.

Jo Maes, Managing Director GolfSwitch International Ltd adds: “Having such a prestigious brand as De Vere and a flagship resort as The Belfry on our system is the reward for all the hard work the GolfSwitch ownership and staff have done since 1998. We have certainly come of age and can now safely say we are the world’s leading tee time technology provider. The De Vere Group expects the best so kudos to our technical guys as the system not only works, but works well. With The Belfry we know have several of the Ryder Cup venues and Solheim Cup venues on our system providing golfers and resellers ample choice of quality golf.”

GolfSwitch has cemented itself as a world leader in online tee time technology and works very much with the courses allowing them to avail of engines that suit their needs. Our business integrity very much separates us from our competitors where we allow courses to dictate the green fee rate and availability shown.
