Welwyn based PR and advertising agency, Golf Marketing Services, celebrated their 10th birthday at the end of November.

Neil Gray and Colin Callander opened the doors of the agency for the first time in 2001. Such was the demand for their services, that within three months, Phil Craghill joined the team from his position at IPC Magazines Ltd.

Throughout the subsequent decade, the agency has grown considerably and now boasts a strong portfolio of brands, many of whom have been clients since the very beginning.

Co-Managing Partner, Neil Gray, said: “It’s amazing that 10 years have gone by already. It has been hugely enjoyable and I am delighted that the principles we set out at the beginning for the agency have been adhered to.

“I’m also thrilled that every single client who came to us on day one is still with us today.  This is a fine reflection of the strong relationships we’ve developed through time. I’d personally like to thank every one of our clients for remaining loyal to us.

“This is a great industry and we’ve been incredibly lucky with the clients and media we’ve had the pleasure of working with over the past decade.”

Fellow Managing Partner, Phil Craghill, added: “Due to the relationships we’ve developed and the quality of our clients I can honestly say that every single day has been good fun.”

The biggest change the agency has faced over time has been the evolution of online media and social networking. This is now an area of real expertise for the agency.

Longest serving employee and Account Director Adam Roberts summed up the challenge facing agencies today: “We pride ourselves on keeping ahead of the game when it comes to understanding the media. We are constantly evaluating developments online and in social media, with a view to utilising there structure for ourselves and our clients.”
