Hot on the heels on the revelation that Yorkshire has been selected as the Grand Départ for the Tour de France comes the announcement that Moor Allerton Golf Club in Leeds has been selected as a host venue for the September leg of the PGA Europro Tour in 2013.

The PGA EuroPro Tour has played a vital part in the early careers of some of the biggest names in golf, including Nicolas Colsaerts, Ross Fisher, Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel.  It promises to be an exciting year with a total prize fund of over £500,000.

Moor Allerton’s pristine 27 hole course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr, will prove an exhilarating challenge for professionals from all over the UK and Ireland, with some coming from further afield.

James Whitaker, Head Professional at Moor Allerton, says: “We are extremely proud to be selected as a host venue for this prestigious tour and are anticipating a week packed full of excitement – this is our 90th anniversary year so it couldn’t be better timed.  Watch this space for details – we look forward to welcoming golfers and supporters from far and wide.”
