Teeofftimes.co.uk has announced that it is supporting the Golf Foundation for a second year in a fundraising project which is helping a new generation of golfers enjoy the benefits of the game.

Having raised just under £9,000 for the Golf Foundation last year, through an intelligent campaign in which golf clubs donated tee times to the golf charity, all involved are now seeking to more than double this figure in 2015, aiming at an ambitious fundraising target of £20,000.

Leading online tee-time booking provider Teeofftimes.co.uk is calling on its strong golf club customer network to support the Golf Foundation’s HSBC Golf Roots programme, an initiative which reaches hundreds of thousands of youngsters from all backgrounds in schools and communities and then provides opportunities to enjoy regular golf at club level.

Teeofftimes.co.uk is delighted to announce that early supporters of the campaign this year include three of the most respected golf club venue groups, De Vere Venues, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts and Leaderboard Golf.

Participating golf groups and independent golf clubs will be asked by the Golf Foundation to donate funds raised from the sale of up to four golf course green fees, collected by the Teeofftimes.co.uk team.

Regular participation at club level is a key part of the HSBC Golf Roots strategy, which is supported by all of the major golfing bodies of England, Scotland and Wales. For example, with support from England Golf and the Professional Golfers’ Association, official figures show that in the last year the Golf Foundation created 2,500 new junior members in our clubs.

Richard Barker, General Manager of Teeofftimes.co.uk, said: “Our team is delighted to be helping the Golf Foundation again in 2015. In the first year of this project, the support and enthusiasm from both the golf groups and individual golf clubs was superb. These donations are highly generous but also reveal that the people involved in these clubs are genuinely switched on to backing the next generation of golfers. For 2015 we felt we could take this fundraising further and everyone is aiming to reach £20,000, which would be great news for the Golf Foundation team.

“For Teeofftimes.co.uk, a company that is working with key partners in providing playing opportunities for all golfers, we wanted to put something back into the game by supporting the Golf Foundation in this way.”

Brendon Pyle, Chief Executive of the Golf Foundation, said: “HSBC Golf Roots is encouraging more and more young people to first discover golf and then enjoy playing regularly at a golf club with expert supervision. It is great that golf clubs and groups are at the heart of this fundraising project. We are hugely grateful to Teeofftimes.co.uk, who are able to support us because they are respected by their customers, customers who also want to help grow the game.”

If your golf club would like to support this campaign the Golf Foundation would be delighted to hear from you. Simply call 01992 449830 for more information or download a form to show your support at www.golf-foundation.org.

The fundraising project is aimed at existing Teeofftimes.co.uk customers for ease of administration in donating tee times. Golf clubs wishing to find out more about the company’s services can contact General Manager Richard Barker on 07793 775207, or email RBarker@teeofftimes.co.uk.
